Company is a title sponsor for first-ever “Pack Expo Leadership Lecture” in Las Vegas.

PMMI, owner and producer of the PACK EXPO family of trade shows, reports that Morrison Container Handling Solutions,  Glenwood, IL, has signed on as a title sponsor for Gen. Colin Powell’s address at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2011, “Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust & Values.”

“Gen. Powell has clearly dedicated his life to our country, and is a role model for any leader, military or civilian. It’s an honor to be a title sponsor for this event,” says Nick Wilson, president and owner of Morrison Container Handling Solutions, and chairman of the PMMI Board of Directors.

The event, which is the first-ever “Pack Expo Leadership Lecture,” will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Tuesday, Sept. 27. A reception begins at 3:30 p.m., and will be followed by the leadership presentation from 4:30–5:30 p.m.

“Gen. Powell exemplifies leadership, and he has participated on the global stage in a way most people never will. His experiences have given him a unique set of insights and perspectives that are pertinent to the industry leaders who attend Pack Expo - as exhibitors or attendees - and compete in a worldwide marketplace,” says Charles D. Yuska, president & CEO, PMMI.

Gen. Powell will draw on his many years of public service when he addresses PACK EXPO exhibitors and attendees. The retired U.S. Army four-star general served as National Security Advisor under President Ronald Reagan and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and as Secretary of State during President George W. Bush’s first term. He has defied racial barriers as the first African-American Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Gen. Powell is the founding chairman of America’s Promise Alliance, a cross-sector partnership of more than 400 corporations, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and advocacy groups that are passionate about improving lives and changing outcomes for children. The group launched in 1997.

His military and civilian honors include two Presidential Medals of Freedom, the Congressional Gold Medal, the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Soldier’s Medal. Gen. Powell also founded the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies at his alma mater, the City College of New York.
