Paper packaging industry leaderEvergreen Packaging(www.evergreenpackaging.com) is sponsoring Project Carton, a carton design competition for Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) students. The contest seeks innovative, creative designs for beverage packaging targeted to consumers with increasing environmental awareness.

The competition launched on September 4, with a judging panel review scheduled for October 23. The program will culminate at the packaging industry’s leading event, PACK EXPO International, on October 28, when the winning design will be unveiled at a VIP reception in the Hyatt McCormick Center in Chicago.

The goal of Evergreen Packaging’s Project Carton competition is to showcase the creative and high impact point of purchase message delivery opportunity available on fiber-based cartons, which represent an important eco-friendly packaging option.Working with students at FIT also offers new, compelling insight for the future of packaging design.

Key players in the Project Carton program include:
  •   FIT students--More than 24 FIT students, future design industry leaders and innovators are expected to submit competition entries
