The latest data from Mexico’s Pharmaceutical Industry Chamber (CANIFARMA) reveals that the growth of the Mexican pharmaceutical market rivals that of any Latin American country.

Thousands of buyers hoping to keep pace with this maturing pharmaceutical industry will be in attendance at EXPO PACK México 2015 (June 16–19, Centro Banamex, Mexico City). Show producer, PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (pmmi.org), is expecting over 26,000 total attendees to visit the four day show.

“The largest percentage of pharmaceutical manufacturers in the country are located in Central Mexico, making it an easy trip to EXPO PACK México,” says Gerardo Barajas, director of EXPO PACK.

The Mexican pharmaceutical market grew 6.5 percent annually over the past five years, reaching a sales value of $13 billion dollars according to CANIFARMA. This growth into the second largest pharmaceutical market in Latin America fuels the need for technology, products and services for packaging and pharmaceuticals processing.

“Each year, EXPO PACK México exhibitors offer new processing and packaging solutions to facilitate track and trace operation, protect products and provide precise portioning,” says Barajas. “Pharmaceutical professionals also attend EXPO PACK México to purchase containers and materials that preserve sterility and extend shelf life.”

In addition to meeting the needs of the Mexican market, ProMéxico reports that exports in 2013 reached $1.7 billion, making Mexico the largest pharmaceutical exporter in Latin America.
