Labeltronix (Labeltronix.com) won five awards—two golds, two silvers, and a bronze—in the world’s most prestigious and longest-running annual label printing competition of its kind, the 55th Annual Excellence in Flexography Awards.

Four of the five honors in the international competition were for wine labels; the fifth was for a spirits submission. The Flexographic Technical Association announced that the competition was “fierce” this year, with some of the best print jobs in its more than five decades of running the event.

Since 2009, Labeltronix has won 21 honors from the FTA. This year, Labeltronix was the only company to win five awards in the uncoated paper category.

Gold award recognition went to the Back from the Dead Red Wine Label, which won for line printing and was singled out by judges for “excellent work,” and Kirkland Carneros 2013 Pinot Noir, which won for process printing and earned high marks from judges for demonstrating “across the board, an extremely high level of execution.”

Other winners were the South Coast Winery Merlot Rose label, which took a silver for screen printing, and Writer’s Block Lake County Syrah, which won a silver for line printing.

The spirits label winner was a bronze for process printing of the Kirkland Eggnog Liqueur label.

“We’re proud to get this recognition from an independent panel of judges,” says Shawn Plunkett, general manager of Labeltronix. “It confirms our commitment to top quality.”

“Besides showcasing our customers’ exceptional designs, these contests give us a wonderful way to recognize the hard work and dedication our employees demonstrate every day to produce such outstanding labels,” Plunkett says.
