Exhibitor registrations for swop 2017, Shanghai World of Packaging, are going strong. Currently, the number of companies confirmed to exhibit rose by 50% compared to the last staging in 2015. An additional 1,000 exhibitors are expected to showcase their latest products, technology and services on 645,800 square feet. swop 2017 consists of three trade shows, offering a one-stop platform for processing and packaging solutions: PacPro Asia,  FoodPex and BulkPex. The event will take place November 7-10, 2017, at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC) and is organized by Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai in cooperation with their long-time partner Adsale Exhibition Services and the China Center for Food & Drug International Exchange (CCFDIE).

Special features at swop 2017 will include the debut of the SAVE FOOD exhibit, the new “innovationparc” and “components” sections as well as 10 forums discussing packaging trends of the future.

In terms of the end-user industries, China’s food processing industry is a developed and growing market and the production of food totaled $ 2.24 billion. At the same time, China is the world’s largest e-commerce market. In 2016, the number of e-commerce users was 530 million and the total revenue amounted to $ 376.175 million. The 13th Five Year Plan and “Made in China 2025” are putting higher demands on the equipment manufacturing industry. As for the packaging industry, the objectives will be green packaging materials, smart packaging machinery and high-end packaging products. It is expected that the revenue of the Chinese packaging industry will reach at $ 362.16 billion by 2020. Only through innovation can Chinese manufacturers expand their business worldwide on an international advanced level.”
