Advanced technology allows the WideArray Edge Detectors from AccuWeb to have more capabilities, the company says. The detectors were introduced more than 15 years ago with its patented technology allowing for self-adjusting edge detection that could overcome ambient dust, changes in temperature and humidity, web flutter, passline variances and other environmental factors.  

Most recently, a single WideArray edge detector can now centerline guide narrow webs up to 18 inches when integrated with AccuWeb’s new EVO 15 controller with DualEdge technology. WideArray edge detectors are available with detection ranges from 1.2 inches to 18.4 inches. Both ultrasonic and infrared models have been designed in order to accurately detect any web material regardless of opacity. Intrinsically safe models are available for use in Class 1, Division 1 Group C&D hazardous environments.
