The PROCESS EXPO university program run by the Food Processing Suppliers Association will feature more than 35 hours of educational sessions.

Despite the nation’s economic turmoil and the ongoing food recalls and contamination problems, the world of high-pressure processing (HPP) has remained robust.

Programs will include a focus on packaging technology and feature professors from major universities.

The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) received six early commitments from university food science and packaging science programs that pledged to participate in educational sessions.

FPSA foundation also supported food-insecure communities through the DEFEAT HUNGER initiative.

More than 19,000 people attended the events, which were held simultaneously at McCormick Place in Chicago Nov. 3-6. The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and the International Dairy Foods Association say they will again co-locate these events in 2015.
