Dennis Calamusa is the Founder, President & CEO of ALLIEDFLEX® Technologies, Inc., Sarasota, FL, a sales, marketing, and consulting group providing global flexible packaging machinery systems and technologies to the North American and South American markets. Dennis and his global partner suppliers have installed hundreds of standup-pouch and flexible packaging systems in the evolving global consumer packaging market.
Dennis has dedicated the last 30 years of his career to consumer packaging and has supported the global shift toward flexible packaging innovation, including the popular standup pouch packaging format.
Clients of ALLIEDFLEX include many multinational consumer products, entrepreneurial start-ups, and global flexible packaging companies. He and his company have participated in “transitioning” hundreds of successful new product/package introductions, including promoting flexible packaging as a “packaging strategy” to re-invent a mature brand or create new value-added product line categories.
Before starting ALLIEDFLEX, Dennis served as founder and president of PPI/PROFILE Packaging Inc. (PPI Technologies LLC), vice president of flexible packaging systems at Klockner Bartelt (KHS), product manager North America for flexible packaging systems at Robert Bosch Corp., and production manager and packaging engineer for HARTZ Mountain Corp.
Dennis, who has served as a contributing editor for Packaging Strategies and Flexible Packaging, launched the first SME Standup Pouch Conference Series in North America in 1996, which has since evolved into today’s popular Global Pouch Forum program organized by Packaging Strategies, now in its 26th year.
Dennis is an avid speaker, influencer, and moderator, having presented at over 250 packaging conferences and venues around the world. He is a professional member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP) and the former vice president of the IOPP Florida Chapter. ALLIEDFLEX is a general member of PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and is an associate member of the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA).
