Since its groundbreaking introduction in 2010, NATIVIA® has established itself at the forefront of sustainable packaging innovation. What began as a pioneering venture into biaxially oriented PLA films has evolved into a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that continues to reshape industry standards.

NATIVIA® introduced the packaging industry to a new generation of films that challenged conventional approaches. The brand's early commitment to biobased solutions and industrial compostability established new benchmarks for sustainable packaging performance.

The Evolution

NATIVIA® is now embarking on its next chapter of innovation. The expanded portfolio now encompasses different levels of product protection and comprehensive end-of-life solutions designed to meet the evolving demands of high-value applications. Through the incorporation of groundbreaking materials such as PHAs, the introduction of home compostability features and the functionalization with advanced barrier technologies, NATIVIA® continues to lead industry transformation.

To reinforce this evolution, Taghleef Industries has undertaken a comprehensive rebranding initiative for NATIVIA®. The refreshed visual identity communicates a powerful narrative of integration and commitment. Images illustrating the rebrand can be found here.

Integration of New Biopolymers

The brand has evolved from BOPLA films exclusively to an integrated portfolio of biaxially oriented films based on a mix of innovative biopolymers.

The New NATIVIA® Promise

Building upon Taghleef Industries' commitment to providing market-tailored solutions, NATIVIA® introduces its comprehensive product families of biaxially oriented films:

  • NATIVIA® ESSENTIAL – PLA, Biobased and Industrial Compostable films suitable for diverse applications
  • NATIVIA® PREMIUM – High Quality, Biobased solutions designed for luxury applications
  • NATIVIA® PLUS – Biopolymer Mix, Home Compostable films suitable for various applications
  • NATIVIA® PROTECT – High Barrier solutions for specialized applications, including PROTECT Essential (PLA, Industrial Compostable, High Barrier) and PROTECT Plus (Biopolymer Mix, Home Compostable, High Barrier)

“The reimagined NATIVIA® represents more than a product portfolio expansion — it embodies Taghleef Industries' unwavering dedication to sustainable innovation and market leadership,” the company said in a statement. “As the packaging industry continues to evolve toward more conscious solutions, NATIVIA® stands ready to meet tomorrow's challenges with today's most advanced biobased and biodegradable film solutions.”
