Kelpi appoints John Williams as Chief Technology Officer

Kelpi, a UK-based materials innovation company developing seaweed-derived high-barrier coatings for paper-based packaging, has announced the appointment of John Williams to the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Williams, a globally recognized expert in biomaterials, will join Kelpi on July 27 and will be leading the development, validation, and scaling of Kelpi’s core technologies, while also shaping the pipeline of new materials and products that will reinforce and build Kelpi’s unique position in the market.
Prior to joining Kelpi, Williams was the CTO of Aquapak Polymers and has previously worked in a variety of roles developing and commercializing new and disruptive technologies with NNFCC, Advanced Technical Products, Kelbchemie MG Becker, TOTAL Speciality Polymers, and Henkel.
Williams holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Leeds and is an Honorary Professor at the University of Birmingham. He is an Investment Committee Board Member at S’Investec and also holds a number of advisory roles.
