Los Angeles Approves Ban on Plastic Grocery Bags
An 11-1 vote by the L.A. City Council serves as one step closer to the official ban on plastic grocery bags from super markets, convenience stores and large retailers. Industry officials claim that unemployment rates will increase in the plastic bag-making industry if the law passes. Fines up to $500 will be imposed on businesses that fail to comply with the new law.
