General Films Celebrates Its Founder’s Day

On Oct. 3, General Films, headquartered in Covington, Ohio, welcomed hundreds of people from the community and the plastics industry to commemorate two historic milestones: founder Roy Weikert’s 100th birthday and the company’s long-standing history.
Roy founded General Films in 1938. The company now serves a wide range of industries with custom extruded film solutions, bag-in-box systems and industrial packaging for a variety of industries including automotive, dairy and poultry.
Today, Roy is a vibrant 100 year old who still lives near Covington and enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle. For instance, Roy recently cut back from walking four miles daily to two miles a day. His secret to longevity: “Keep breathing. It’s helpful.”
