KTI, originally founded in 1985 by John Keene, has decades of experience in developing splicing and rewinding equipment for the printing, packaging and converting industries.

 

Quantum Design Inc., a controls engineering and design firm that has an on-site panel building shop, has been in business since 1986 and is an industry leader in controls system automation. Quantum’s combination of engineering strength and control panel production experience is unique to the region and will bring new light to KTI. In addition, their controls engineering expertise will bring continuous improvement to the KTI product lines, specifically to the controls installed on their machines.

 

As part of the ownership change, Danny Pearse has taken over as President and Dave Culvey has taken over as Vice President of KTI. They currently serve as president and vice president of Quantum Design and have over 30 years’ experience in the controls engineering, electrical engineering and manufacturing industries. They plan to keep the company in its current location in South Beloit, Ill., and retain its current name, Keene Technology Inc.

 

Pearse and Culvey have already started on the development of new programs and improvement upon the current product lines that will bring the company to new levels. The company is committed to improving both the products and services of KTI to best serve the needs and goals of their customers.
