The latest update of FPA’s Flexible Packaging Buyers Guide can help you find converters easily. It lets you get detailed information either online or from a PDF document. The recently revised 2016-2017 edition lists converters of flexible packaging and those who offer products and services to the flexible packaging industry. Only FPA members are included in the listings as a benefit of membership.
You can access the online or PDF version by going to www.flexpack.org. On the tool bar at the top of the home page, click on “Buyers Guide.” It redirects you to a screen where you can do an online search for specific criteria. That same screen lets you click a link to download the PDF version.
Both versions let you search by several criteria.
One section of the Guide identifies those who manufacture flexible packaging — either finished packages or rollstock. It shows specific market segments each manufacturer serves. As an example, “retail food” is one “umbrella” classification, and the Guide provides further breakdowns by food category. For example, the Guide identifies converters serving categories such as baked goods, frozen foods, snacks, and other major food segments.
Other “umbrella” categories include retail non-food, institutional food, institutional non-food, medical/pharmaceutical and industrial applications. You can further refine the search within those broad categories.
The Guide also identifies suppliers of specific types of packaging, printing processes, converting processes and value-added services.
The Flexible Packaging Buyers Guide also provides information on suppliers to flexible packaging manufacturers. “Umbrella” categories include those who provide machinery and equipment. Other categories include companies that provide supplies and services such as resins, substrates, adhesives, inks and coatings.
