New FPA President & CEO Greets FPA Members

November 1, 2016

Addressing the largest-ever Fall Executive Conference, new FPA President and CEO, Alison Keane, Esq., said she is going to “hit the ground running,” thanks to the support from staff and FPA leadership.

The meeting, with an attendance of 134, was in Chicago in early October. It provided the FPA membership the opportunity to meet FPA’s new President and CEO. Keane comes to FPA from the American Coatings Association where she was Vice President for Government Affairs and Industry Programs and was responsible for advocacy on behalf of the paint and coating industry in the U.S.

“I hope to build on my work on issues such as sustainability, recyclability, end-of-life management, and extended producer responsibility,” she offered. Keane also recognized the help she is receiving from retiring FPA President and CEO, Marla Donahue, in moving into the FPA leadership position.

Stan Bikulege, Chairman and CEO of NOVOLEX™ and FPA Chairman of the Board, introduced Keane. He noted her experience working closely with association members in many areas including environmental issues and government relations.

Keane will provide strategic leadership and advocacy to advance and grow the flexible packaging industry. An environmental attorney with 20 years of experience in the association and government sectors, Keane has also served at the Environmental Protection Agency and the Maryland State Senate.

She has a BA in biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a JD from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She is admitted to the practice of law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
