W&H Varex II with Turboclean Intelligent Automation Makes Debut
Windmöller & Hölscher’s 5-layer VAREX II blown film line with the intelligent TURBOCLEAN autmoation module made its debut at K 2016 in October, marking the first and only blown film machine to demonstrate complete job changeovers – including changing seven components, film width, thickness and color – within 12 minutes.
Normall changeovers last about 30 minutes and occur about three times a day.
“With the demonstration of a 12-minute job change, we made Packaging 4.0 real for our visitors,” says Dr. Jürgen Vutz, CEO.
Additionally, W&H showcased its new FILMEX II cast film line for making stretch, CPP and barrier films at its in-house expo in Lengerich that coincided with K. The line ran a 2,700 mm asymmetrical barrier film for deep draw applications, and the new FILM PERFORMANCE MONITOR (FPM) integrated into the automation of the FILMEX II to allow for consistent and reproducible film quality
