FPA commissioned Battelle Memorial Institute to assess the sustainability of flexible packaging. The results are detailed in The Battelle Sustainability Assessment of Flexible Packaging Report, which focuses on two primary areas including understanding the life cycle energy consumption and carbon footprint of flexible packages compared to alternative packaging, and exploring the options for management of flexible packaging at the end of their useful lives.
