Mamata Installs 100th Machine in America

October 28, 2013
In April 2013, Mamata, global supplier of bag- and pouch-making machines, installed its 100th machine in the US, at Diamond Flexibles of Northbrook, Ill.  The Ahmedabad, India-based company introduced its bag- and pouch-makers to the North American market back in January of 2004.

Diamond Flexible Packaging offers a variety of pre-made pouches and custom bags. In addition to converting polybags, the company offers pouch options such as sliders, side-gusseted, side-gusseted with slider, press-to-close, side-gusseted quad seal and more.

Diamond Flexibles ordered its fourth Mamata machine earlier this year – a 48-inch, split-draw roll universal bag machine. This split-draw roll bag machine is capable of making side-seal-, bottom-seal-, twin-seal bags. Besides running two printed bags at the same time, the most unique capability of the machine is its quick changeovers from side- to twin-seal jobs.

To celebrate the 100th machine installation in North America, Mamata invited the Diamond Flexibles team and representatives from leading publishers in the plastics industry to a ceremony held in July.

The company presented Howard Diamond, president of Diamond Flexibles, with a citation of appreciation and a memento towards his contribution and support. Mamata team members were also honored with a certificate of appreciation for their dedication and efforts.

During the ceremony, Mamata also announced the move and deputation of Sanjay Amin from the company’s India office to its US office full time.
Amin, who is responsible for Mamata’s sales, marketing and customer support activities in North, Central and South America, will now be based at the company’s Montgomery, Ill., location.

“[The] move of Mr. Amin will certainly help Mamata to grow its reach of bag/pouch machines in North, Central and South America at a faster pace now,” says  Dharmisth Patel, president of Mamata Enterprises, Inc.

Currently in the US, Mamata operates from two locations and caters to the needs of both the converting and packaging industry.
