Atlas Converting to Demonstrate New Slitting, Rewinding Technology at Drupa

Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. UK will present its range of primary and secondary slitter and rewinders, including the latest model of its TITAN SR800 Series slitter and rewinder, May 31-June 10 at Drupa 2016 (Stand 12-D55, Hall 12).

Company officials say the Titan SR800 Series not only provides much higher performance and improved productivity, but also a more flexible and sustainable solution in slitting and rewinding.

In the development of the SR800, the company focused its product development strategy on achieving significant reductions in machine downtime for printers and converters, including reduced set change time, lower operator intervention and also reduction of costly waste materials.

The Atlas platform operates with web widths from 100 to 410 inches, and features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning, direct drive web path rollers and running speeds up to 4,920 feet per minute.

The Atlas primary slitter rewinder platform introduces the next generation of more compact film slitting solutions operating with web widths from 2.5 to 10.5 metres (100 – 410 ins.) and delivers higher efficiency, increased productivity and reliability, higher quality rewind reels, reduced noise levels and more effective, operator-friendly control systems.

This latest Atlas technology also features wireless rewind arm positioning, automatic knife positioning, direct drive web path rollers and running speeds of up to 1,500 m/min. (4,920 ft./min.) with more precise web tension control. Electrical cabinets are now fully integrated in to the machines to reduce the space required for installation with ‘under floor’ service trenches also no longer required for the primary slitter rewinders.

Aside from the SR800 on demonstration the Titan range includes the ER610, the SR9-DS and SR9-DT.

Company officials will be on hand at Drupa to assist with service contracts, spare parts and machine upgrades.
