Mondi Jackson, Consumer Goods Packaging has been named a Gold Award winner in the 2016 DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation for its development of a custom-engineered flexible pouch for the SYNEK countertop beer dispenser. The award specifically recognized technological advancement and enhanced user experience.

SYNEK is a standalone home appliance that refrigerates, pressurizes and dispenses beer for the home consumer. Inside the dispensing system is a unique three-layer pouch, which helps keep the beer fresh and under the right amount of pressure for 30 or more days. Users can fill the pouch with home-brewed beer or take it to their favorite brewery, restaurant or bar for filling. After filling, the pouch is securely capped. Once home, the user removes the cap and connects the pouch to the draft system. The pouch, which holds 128 ounces, was developed through collaboration between SYNEK and Mondi Jackson, Consumer Goods Packaging.

Judges evaluated nearly 200 entries from more than 25 countries. Mondi was one of 22 winners selected as 2016 packaging innovators.
