New & Notables at the 2016 Global Pouch Forum

June 3, 2016

From June 15 to 17 at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida, more than 600 attendees will come together for a day-and-a-half worth of education, networking and a tabletop exhibit hall that will showcase some of the latest technology and innovations when it comes to the pouch and to flexible packaging.

The exhibit hall specifically will feature over 80 converters and equipment manufacturers, showcasing some of the latest technology and innovations in pouch making. To give you a better idea of what attendees can see during the exhibit hall portion of the event, we’ve put together this preview. Just consider it a 2016 Global Pouch Forum sneak peek:

Aplix (A5): Aplix will have a narrower version of its EASY-LOCK hook-to-hook closure system on display. This new version also offers more intensive sensory feedback to enhance the consumer experience and further validate openings and closings. The EASY-LOCK system is available in various sizes and configurations and is ideal for dry product applications.

Atlapac (A27): Atlapac will be showcasing its new side-gusseted pinch-bottom line featuring fold/glue - a bag style that offers a more affordable way to move into plastic packaging when compared to a paper bag. Atlapac is the first toll converter to operate a B&B bag making line in the U.S., an addition that will extend the company’s bag making services.

CMD (A9): In addition to showcasing its pouch equipment via video demonstration, CMD will also be showcasing its new 760-IDC flexible pouch die cutter, which can create infinite pouch shapes on demand. The unit is designed to integrate with the outfeed of any pouch machine, makes short work of make-ready and reduces waste. Exclusive video demonstrations of the machine will be available to Global Pouch Forum attendees.

Glenroy (B32): Sprayer pouches, HDPE pouches and custom pouches with EZ Pour spouts are among the line of new standup pouches that Glenroy will have on hand. The EZ Pour spouted pouches are particularly ideal for granulates and dry goods, and offer one-handed dispensing and a flip lid for easy opening and resealing.

HP (A34): HP will have a variety of samples on hand that were printed on its Indigo 20000 digital press, a press that addresses SKU diversity and seasonal redesigns, optimizes supply chains and deploys mass customization and personalization for campaigns. The press works on flexible packaging, labels and shrink sleeves. HP will also present its Pack Ready set of post-print converting solutions, which enables high-performance applications and fast time to market.

Mondi in North America (A31-32): Mondi’s Consumer Goods Packaging division will be showing off its new teapot-shaped standup pouch. Designed to catch the attention of consumers, it can accommodate various spout and cap configurations and is built with a 25-degree angle that allows ease of use when pouring.

ProAmpac (A3-A4): ProAmpac will have its E-Z SnackPak on hand, an innovative format for the single-serve food market. The tetrahedron-shaped pouch transforms into a tray upon opening, for consumer convenience. It’s easy to open, uses less packaging material and is ideal from applications ranging from snack foods to pet treats.

Unette (B20): Forget bottles, jars and rigid tubes for holding liquid product, Unette will be showcasing how stick packs are the ideal option to package liquids – specifically when it comes to convenience and single-serve applications. Unette will also be demonstrating its reclosable Tear and Tuck tube.
