Shurtape Technologies has launched a new website at www.tapeuniversity.com that offers helpful information about choosing and using pressure-sensitive tapes for students, educators, tape distributors and others.

The site, which is currently focused on the HVAC and packaging industries, offers content in the form of videos, blogs and articles that explores various topics, such as how tape can cause downtime on the packaging line and why some packaging tapes won’t stick to recycled cartons.

Shurtape’s Mission: HVAC and Mission: Packaging programs are also featured on the site. The programs challenge six students – three in HVAC and three in packaging – to complete a series of themed missions related to their areas of study. After completing each challenge, the students report their findings in a blog post on the site to earn up to $5,000 toward their future endeavors.

“In 2015, we took a stand to support education with the introduction of our Mission: HVAC program, through which we followed three HVAC students as they completed a year of trade school,” said Laura Pierce, Shurtape’s senior media manager. “During our conversations with students and educators about this program and, more recently, about the Mission: Packaging program, it became clear that easy-to-access, reliable information about tape was lacking. So, we decided to hit the issue head on and created TapeUniversity.com to serve as an educational resource to answer the commonly asked questions about tape, as well as invite visitors to ask their own.”
