Flex Films to Set Trend for Art and Science of Converting at Interpack

April 25, 2017

Flex Films, the global film manufacturing arm of the multinational flexible packaging materials company Uflex, will be exhibiting its latest innovations in film manufacturing at Interpack May 4-10 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

“In converting, everything starts with a film or substrate. Science comes alive when different substrates are carefully engineered and treated to impart desired properties in the ensuing laminate that eventually forms the packaging for a particular product,” says Anantshree Chaturvedi, vice chairman and CEO at Flex Films International. “The skill and finesse that further goes into the process of converting these substrates into laminates is an art. It is this perfect interplay of art and science that brings in the much required innovation to create value-added differentiation in the field of converting/packaging.”

The company will be located in Hall 10 at Stand No. D44 and will feature six distinct zones showcasing various films and substrates, and value-added products that have created ripples in the arena of converting. The six zones are sustainability, specialty, lidding, barrier, PP (OPP and CPP) family, aesthetics and anti-counterfeiting.

In the sustainability zone, the company will showcase its recycled polyester film, oxo and biodegradable films, and green polyester film, among others.

The specialty zone will feature Film Flex’s latest innovations like twist, shrink, easy stackable, digital printing, UV curable, electronic goods wrapping film, easy-tear films and more.

In the lidding section, Flex Films has engineered suitable substrates that pave the way for smooth and easy lid opening, including its isotropic and peelable films.

The barrier section will offer visitors a look at its AlOx, bag-in-box, high-barrier MET PET, and super-barrier corona films, among others.

In the PP (OPP and CPP) family zone, Flex Films will be featuring its ultra-barrier OPP, low SIT, anti-fog OPP, retortable CPP, deep freeze CPP, and high-barrier CPP films.

Lastly, in the aesthetics and anti-counterfeiting zone, Flex Films will highlight the threat of counterfeiting to brands and the solutions they offer to prevent counterfeiting. On display will be its holographic and Fresnel lens embossed films as well as other pigmented special-effect films.

“The collective wealth of experience in terms of product innovation for the converting/packaging industry that will be on display at Interpack 2017 is truly praiseworthy,” says Ashok Chaturvedi, chairman and managing director of Uflex Ltd., Flex Films’ parent company. “I am glad that Flex Films will be showcasing its most contemporary and innovative products for the global converting industry. After all, the art of converting starts with the science of manufacturing the film.”
