Kendall Packaging has completed a $10 million expansion to its Pittsburg, Kansas, facility, adding about 59,000 square feet of space and new machinery, including solvent-free laminators, slitters and a 10-color W&H MIRAFLEX II AM press.

With the expansion complete, Kendall now has two plants with identical platforms – one in Kansas and the second in Jefferson, Wisconsin, giving the company the unique benefit of being its own backup.

The MIRAFLEX II AM is Kendall’s fourth W&H press and the first such model sold in North America. It is equipped with W&H’s fully-integrated VISION web inspection system with Defect Check and Color Check. An additional feature on the new press is the TURBOCLEAN ADVANCED E inking and wash-up system with electric pulsation-free pumps, which significantly reduce both ink and energy consumption.

Last week, Kendall introduced its new company logo and website with a fresh, modern appearance that also reflects the traditions built during the company’s 70-year history.
