Sigma Plastics Group has expanded by buying all of Excelsior Packaging Group's equipment, as well as all of the company's printing assets at its Rosman, N.C. site.

Sigma officials say that the presses are believed to be the widest and fastest printing presses in the world. 

The company also says that it will be operating the Rosman location as a new legal entity called New Excelsior Inc., specializing in medical and hygienic packaging.

Excelsior CEO Ronnie Shemesh will become a consultant to the printing operation during the transition, Sigma said.

"Ronnie Shemesh and Excelsior Packaging have always invested in the very best technology and equipment which is consistent with the Sigma philosophy," says Sigma President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Teo says.
