Shell Polymers and ISOFlex, a division of Sigma Plastics Group, have entered a commercial collaboration that enables the use of ISCC PLUS certified circular polyethylene for food-grade flexible packaging. ISOFlex, a leading consumer products company, is using this certified circular material to produce packaging films, and the initiative plays a key role in its meeting internal sustainability targets. This collaboration reflects a growing industry shift toward high-performance circular solutions.

From its Monaca, Pennsylvania facility, Shell Polymers supplies ISOFlex with ISCC PLUS certified circular polyethylene, a virgin quality resin delivered with a certificate declaring that circular attributes followed a traceable chain of custody using a mass balance approach that is audited by third parties according to ISCC PLUS standards. This rigorous process enables converters like ISOFlex to produce high-quality film products while supporting the transition to a circular economy.

“This collaboration underscores Shell Polymers’ ability to meet the real-world demands of converters seeking circular solutions, including certified circular resin,” said Ryan Siegfried, Global Marketing Manager at Shell Polymers. “Our ISCC PLUS certified materials help customers like ISOFlex deliver traceable and functional solutions that make it possible for more end markets to access recycled plastic.”

“This partnership demonstrates how Shell Polymers’ certified circular solutions support our customers in achieving their goals in both performance and sustainability,” said David McKinney, President, ISOFlex Division of Sigma Plastics Group. “By working with Shell, we’re able to maintain reliable functionality while also delivering an innovative solution that meets customer expectations.”
