Lactips, a French company specializing in the production of natural polymers that are 100% biobased, water-soluble and biodegradable in various environments, recently unveiled new plastic-free packaging market-ready applications at Edition Spéciale by Luxe Pack in Paris, developed in partnership with US-based SmartSolve.

Designed for the beauty, cosmetics and personal care sectors, these co-developed samples showcase a new generation of water-dispersible packaging solutions aligned with growing expectations regarding environmental impact.

The applications are based on PureNil™ 0, a bio-based functionalized paper developed by SmartSolve, enabling plastic-free flexible packaging that rapidly disperses in water without leaving microplastic residues. These properties offer brands a compelling market-ready alternative to conventional single-use packaging.

This collaboration combines Lactips’ expertise in the development, production and marketing of natural polymers with SmartSolve’s application-driven approach, opening new pathways for circular packaging innovation.

“Water-soluble, plastic-free materials have the potential to transform single-use packaging, particularly in beauty and personal care. This collaboration demonstrates how innovation can translate into practical, scalable solutions,” said Bertrand Dupeyroux, VP Sales & Marketing at Lactips.

“Lactips has been the ideal partner in delivering plastic-free innovation, which has accelerated our journey toward making packaging no longer trash,” explained Jonathan Jakubowski, CEO & Co-Founder at SmartSolve.

This initiative marks the beginning of a broader collaboration aimed at accelerating the adoption of plastic-free packaging solutions worldwide.
