Mondi in North America will exhibit a sweeping array of flexible packaging products ranging from consumer and industrial solutions to laminating films and innovative plastic and paper-based barriers at Pack Expo 2016, Booth #E-7914. Visitors to the booth are invited to bring their most challenging consumer and industrial packaging challenges for on-site evaluation by Mondi packaging experts.

Products scheduled for exhibit include Mondi’s FlexziBox® reclosable flat bottom bag, the SquareBag, HYBRIDPRO Bag and Terra Bag, as well as Styria Bar multilayer barrier films and the SKOG natural liner.

Mondi’s FlexziBox Flat Bottom Bag offers easy-filling advantages for packagers of cereal, rice, coffee, tea, sugar and pet food. The bag opens with ease, allows fast and highly efficient filling and is compatible with all conventional filling machines. It features a specially designed flat base with rounded edges for enhanced stability, maintains its shape during transportation and storage and presents an attractive appearance on store shelves.

In addition, the bag can be fitted with a variety of different closures to suit the application, including a top zipper, top slider or hook-and-loop closure. The closures allow consumers to seal the bag after use, protecting its contents and preserving freshness. The bag can be attractively printed in up to 10 colors using rotogravure or new high-definition flexographic processes. Matte finishes can be applied to the bag’s printed areas, adding visual depth and producing an appealing contrast with the packaging’s glossier images.  

Mondi’s SquareBag product platform incorporates advanced packaging films with a variety of spouts, closures and handles. It supports diverse consumer goods applications, including the packaging of food, wine, motor oil, laundry detergent and pet food. It securely packages powders and granular materials weighing up to 10 lbs. and liquids up to 1.5 gallons.

The versatile bag adapts easily to all common filling lines and requires no special filling technology. Filling is done through a spout or extended lips on the bag’s top or bottom. The bag can also be supplied on rails for use on automated filling lines. Like the FlexziBox Flat Bottom Bag, it can be attractively printed in up to 10 colors using rotogravure or new high-definition flexographic processes. Mondi’s award-winning HYBRIDPRO Bag is designed for the packaging of moisture-sensitive contents, like gypsum or cement.

The bag offers the protective advantages of plastic bags and can significantly extend shelf life.

It offers the breathability and sturdiness of paper bags and can run on conventional filling machines, eliminating the need of changing to costly form-fill-seal machinery.

Mondi’s Terra Bag is the world’s first biodegradable industrial bag with humidity protection and certified compostability. It consists of a paper bag (one or multiple plies) with an optional biodegradable film for better humidity protection and can be equipped with an Easy Seal valve. The entire bag is biodegradable and optimized for industrial composting.

The bag supports packagers’ sustainability initiatives, offers enhanced protection of filling product compared with pure paper bags and does not constrain filling speed.

Mondi’s SKOG natural liner is the first paper liner designed to run on FFS machines for packaging wood pellets, animal feed and much more. The double sided barrier protects the goods from moisture, oxygen and light.
