New SAM Extrusion Technology Offers Higher Speeds

SAM North America's Extrusion Technology Center, located in upstate New York, is home to the newest pilot line technology in the industry.  The 1-meter-wide line is capable of extrusion coating and laminating, cast film, and solution coating and drying with speeds to 600 meters per minute on film, foil, non-wovens, paper and paperboard.  The machine offers three extruders with direct torque drives and IR heaters, layer multiplier technology up to eleven layers, in-line chemical priming, flame and corona treatment.  The machine is available to validate processing techniques, layer constructions, processing speeds and test new resins and materials.
