Gain Industry Insights with FPA Publications

Gain insight and in-depth perspective on issues facing the flexible packaging industry with reports from the Flexible Packaging Association. The reports analyze present issues; they also assess industry and market opportunities. Many are available to those who are not FPA members, while some are benefits restricted to members. Among key reports are:

2015 State of the Flexible Packaging Industry Report

This is the definitive resource on the flexible packaging industry. It is an annual report with financial, production and usage data. Data details sales, production, profit trends, capital and expansion plans, mergers and acquisitions. It also has export data. The report covers converters, suppliers, and buyers of flexible packaging, Free to members; $3,500 for non-members.

Flexible Packaging Industry Segment Profile Analysis

The report analyzes flexible packaging market segments by volumes and revenue. The report looks at markets by materials and packaging formats. Those formats include bags, wrappers, lidding, shrink sleeves, shrink wrap and stretch films. Other segments are pouches—flat, standup and retort formats. The report also covers retail carry bags, storage and trash bags. It is free to members; $3,500 for non-members.

The Role of Flexible Packaging in Reducing Food Waste

The first of two studies on this important packaging issue, this report looks at global food waste. It focuses on developed countries, and it points out flexible packaging opportunities to reduce food waste. Free to members; $3,500 for non-members.

The Value of Flexible Packaging in Extending Shelf Life and Reducing Food Waste

This study on food waste focuses on shelf life. It validates information through an examination of peer-reviewed literature on extended shelf achieved with flexible packaging solutions. Free to members; $3,500 for non-members.

A Work In Progress

This 12-page brochure is designed to answer questions from the public and organizations about flexible packaging end-of-life issues. It discusses resource recovery programs. Free to members; $1.50 per brochure for non-members.

Buyers Guide as Another Resource

The FPA Buyers Guide covers converters and suppliers, listing those companies who are FPA members. Listings include resin and substrate suppliers. Adhesive, ink and coating suppliers are also listed, as are machinery, equipment and component suppliers. It is a free download of a PDF. It is also available in a searchable configuration on-line.
