Cheez-It® Snap’d®, Cheez-It® Puff’d® and Club® Crisps, have reduced the amount of plastic used in their packaging (compared to the same volume last year), while maintaining the same amount of product in each package.
At full capacity, the facility will recycle nearly 90 million pounds of plastic waste per year, enough to encircle the globe in pallet wrap more than 135 times. It is expected to employ nearly 200 people.
The move is one of few leadership changes in the company's 121-year history, including when the Schottland family purchased APC from the Kardon family in 1986.
The printing company specializes in producing laminated flexible packaging structures for frozen food, a sector that has witnessed significant growth in recent years.
