Packaging Strategies is no stranger to the PFAS- and plastic-free Morro™ Coatings of UK materials innovator Xampla.

For example, in December 2025 we reported on Xampla working with global chemicals manufacturer DIC Group to introduce Morro Coatings to Japan and other Asian countries.

However, we recently gained new insights on the success of Morro Coatings when we sat down with Sam Walker, Head of Sales & Business Development for Xampla.

Following a successful launch with Just Eat Takeaway’s platform in Germany, Lieferando (owned by Just Eat Takeaway) introduced delivery boxes with Morro Coatings to their restaurant partners in Austria. Supplied by global packaging manufacturer Huhtamaki, this award-winning range is now available to over 45,000 restaurants in Europe.

During our interview, Walker explained why the awards need no explanation.

“It was a real validation of the technology itself because in food delivery it can be a real mixture of different products, different requirements of barriers—some runny, some greasy, some oily food products,” Walker said.

To learn how Xampla collaborates with global brands, how its award-winning applications work, and how Xampla plans to expand its reach in the near future, check out the full interview here:
