Vitamin water with a twist
A
twist of the cap releases vitamins in ACTIVATE’s vitamin water.

ACTIVATE is an innovative, enhanced vitamin beverage with a proprietary cap design that stores vitamins separately from the water, enabling the vitamins to stay fresh and potent. A twist of the cap releases the vitamins, providing a fresh dose of vitamins for the consumer.
Food & Beverage Packaging further learned that the bottle, from Zuckerman Honickman via Amcor and Constar, includes brightly colored, offset-printed shrink-sleeve labels. The unique cap, patented and provided by Portola Packaging, features a two-piece closure that is assembled after filling. The closure halves snap together with an interference fit to insure a leak-proof seal.
Activate’s PET bottle is made with 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. According to Jesse Merrill, ACTIVATE’s Marketing Director, the use of PCR provides a sustainable solution for packaging and delivering the product with minimal environmental impact.
After discovering that vitamins and other healthy added ingredients lose potency while sitting dormant in water, Activate created a unique patented cap to retain and preserve the vitamins until they’re ready to drink.
Activate features a collection of all-natural, nutrient-enhanced beverages in a range of varieties free of sugar, calories and preservatives. Activate retails for $1.99 per bottle and is currently sold in states in the West and Southeast. The company has plans to distribute into the Northeast in 2012.
