Greg Comatas

xpedx announces two management changes:

Greg Comatas has been named vice president, sourcing – packaging, xpedx (www.xpedx.com) and will be responsible for all aspects of purchasing within xpedx’s packaging segment. He will also become a member of xpedx’s procurement lead team. xpedx is a business of International Paper.  

Comatas has been with International Paper for more than 16 years, holding a number of leadership roles in energy, finance, forestry and procurement. Most recently, he was International Paper’s manager, global energy sourcing. Comatas will report to Tom Lazzaro, chief procurement officer, xpedx.  

 “Greg’s proven leadership and solid track record of delivering results will serve him well as he builds a high performing sourcing team in the packaging segment to achieve significant enterprise benefits,” Lazzaro says. “I look forward to seeing Greg make an immediate impact in packaging as he did so with IP’s global sourcing team.”  



Mark Butryn

In addition:

Mark Butryn has been named vice president, sales – Packaging, xpedx, and will become a member of the xpedx Sales Lead Team. In his new leadership role, Butryn will be responsible for the Packaging sales channels, national business customers, national corrugated initiatives and national service and packaging equipment strategy. He will also lead xpedx’s Packaging sales organization, accelerating growth to achieve profitable marketplace opportunities.  

Butryn brings more than 17 years of sales and manufacturing experience to his new role, holding positions in sales and sales leadership, including national sales manager and global account manager for International Paper’s Fluff Pulp business. Most recently, he was IP’s national sales manager, Bristols and Specialty. Butryn will report to Dan Watkoske, executive vice president, Sales, xpedx.
