The Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute, Inc. (TLMI) announced the winners of its 36th annual label awards competition at a recent event in San Antonio, TX. DuPont™ (dupont.com) Cyrel® (cyrel.com/na) flexographic printing systems were the image carrier of choice for a majority of the competition winners.

McDowell Label and Screen Printing (McDowell Label) was presented the Best of Show award for its Peace & Harmony label. The company also took two Best of Class and 12 First Place awards.

“McDowell Label is one company, one team, with one purpose - to provide innovative brand packaging solutions for those who demand excellence,” says Jay Luft, vice president of Technology - McDowell Label and Screen Printing. “But we cannot do this alone. Collaborations with forward thinking and technology-driven companies such as DuPont Packaging Graphics and their distributor Pitman that share our values and help us achieve our goals are essential. We have been working with these two leading companies for many years and are very pleased to see our work with DuPont™ Cyrel® flexographic systems honored with these prestigious awards.”

The Best in Class award for flexography and letterpress was won by Alpine Packaging for its Full Pint Brewing Company White Lightning label.

“We congratulate McDowell Label, Alpine Packaging and all our DuPont™ Cyrel® users for being recognized as TLMI Label Award winners,” says Wendy Andrushko, North American director of sales, DuPont Packaging Graphics. “Our customers have shown their dedication to printing high quality labels and we are proud that they select Cyrel® plates to help them achieve these honors.”
