All 12 of the company’s facilities on schedule to be BRC certified for packaging in 2014
Fort Dearborn Company (fortdearborn.com) announces that it has certified six of its 12 facilities to The British Retail Consortium (BRC) Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials set forth by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The facilities receiving the certification include the Bowling Green, KY; Brunswick, GA; Fort Worth, TX; Leamington, ON; Niles, IL and Sparks, NV manufacturing locations. The certified facilities produce cut & stack, pressure sensitive, roll-fed and shrink sleeve labels.
“Fort Dearborn decided to enhance each facility’s specific HACCP program to be based on food safety guidelines so that the program would meet the needs of our customers’ Safe Quality Food (SQF) and BRC certification requirements from the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA),” says Fort Dearborn’s chief operating officer Bill Johnstone. “Achieving BRC certification confirms our ongoing customer commitment to producing safe, high quality labels for food and non-food use.”
