Multisorb to give in-booth presentation at Interpack 2014

Company will discuss quality retention and shelf life extension for food products

April 23, 2014

Multisorb Technologies (multisorb.com) has announced it will be showcasing its comprehensive food & beverage sorbent solutions and systems at Interpack 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The trade fair, which operates from May 8-14, will feature 2,700 exhibitors from more than 60 countries involved with packaging and processing equipment, packaging production tools, packaging materials, and packaging services.

Multisorb will use this trade fair as a forum to present an on-booth symposium, “Quality Retention: Shelf life Extension” on May 9, 2014 at 11:00 am, May 10, 2014 at 3:00 pm, and May 12, 2014 at 11:00am.

Retaining quality, shelf life and improving sustainability of packaged foods can be a challenge. Oxygen, moisture, and microbial growth have a negative impact on color, flavors, aroma, texture, and nutritional value of food. Any of these issues will create a reduction in quality and significantly shorten your product’s shelf life. This presentation will focus on using active packaging technologies to maintain food freshness and extend the product shelf while reducing or eliminating the use of artificial ingredients or additives.

In addition to the symposium, Multisorb will also be highlighting its Drop-In, Fit-In, Built-In sorbent solutions, which can be customized to meet specific food preservation challenges.

Drop-in solutions - FreshPax®, MiniPax®, and StripPax® packets - are dropped into the product package or container, protecting food from the damaging effects of unregulated moisture and oxidation. These products are great for extending the shelf-life of processed meats, bakery items, nuts, confections, and more.

Multisorb’s drop-in solutions FreshPax and StripPax packets are inserted into product packaging using Multisorb dispensing equipment, providing the most reliable system for sorbent dispensing. Multisorb dispensing equipment offers easy integration of sorbent delivery into a variety of packaging lines. Many features and options are available.

To maintain fresh case-ready meat in prime condition, the MAPLOX® program is an easy to use, low oxygen packaging program that extends shelf life by significantly reducing oxygen within the master bag and primary tray with the use of a Drop-In solution - FreshPax CR packets. For higher speed applications, such as ground beef, FreshPax CR dispensers are available. Through technical consultation, Multisorb will help you to implement a program specific to your needs.

Fit-in solutions, FreshCard® oxygen absorbing multifunctional cards, and FreshMax® self-adhesive oxygen absorbers, eliminate loose sorbent sachets and canisters, protecting the flavor, color, aroma, and shelf life of processed meats, baked goods, dairy products snack foods and more.

Multisorb’s built-in platform is available with sorbent properties integrated into molded part or packaging film.

All of the platforms – Drop-In, Fit-In, and Built-In – will retain your food’s colors and flavors, prevent rancidity of oils and fats, inhibit the growth of aerobic pathogens, and allow you to use little to no preservatives – all while extending shelf life and increasing customer satisfaction.

Multisorb will have a team of consultants available to speak with you. Stop by hall 11, stand D19 to see the presentation and learn more.
