During K 2016, The World’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, the special show "Plastics shape the future" will highlight current developments and visions for the future. This show will demonstrate to what extent plastics affect modern living spaces – functionally, aesthetically and sustainably. Economic and environmental issues, such as marine litter, will also be addressed. K will be held from October 19 - 26, 2016 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Multimedia presentations and innovative stand design will enliven the program of the special show in Hall 6, consisting of information and entertainment components, activities, keynote talks and discussion sessions. On the traditional “K Youth Day” (October 23), students will present their ideas on how to shape the future. As a project of the German plastics industry under the leadership of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf, “Plastics shape the future” aims to provide insights and perspectives on the future.

Some 3,000 exhibitors from all continents have fully booked the floor space in the 19 halls at K 2016 and about 200,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend.
