Bosch Packaging Technology (boschpackaging.com) and BillerudKorsnäs’ (billerudkorsnas.com) collaboration on sealed paper packaging has won the 2017 Sustainability Awards in the Bio-Based Packaging category. The international jury recognized sealed paper packaging specifically for its unique combination of mono-material Axello® paper from BillerudKorsnäs and the ZAP-Module from Bosch Packaging Technology, which together enable the production of 100% dust-tight yet fully recyclable packaging for dry products such as sugar, grains and flour. Launched in June 2016, the solution is currently available on vertical form-fill-seal as well as mandrel wheel machines, providing an attractive alternative to the traditional paper bags in this segment.
