Smurfit Kappa brings the future of packaging to the Americas
Smurfit Kappa (smurfitkappa.com), a leading paper-based packaging solutions companies, will be hosting The Americas Innovation Event in Dallas on September 21st. The event, which brings together the company’s North American and Latin American customers, will highlight the future of packaging and will have an exhibition of the latest innovations in packaging that contribute to winning in the marketplace.
The Americas Innovation Event is the first one hosted by the group in the region and follows a number of successful events throughout Europe, where customers gathered to see how packaging can help improve their business in a collaborative environment. Smurfit Kappa aims to consolidate their presence in The Americas through its leadership in innovation, which is showcased in events like this. This event builds on the recent opening of Smurfit Kappa´s first regional Experience Center in Dallas in June. This Center is designed to create packaging innovation for business success and this is done utilizing packaging expertise, customer and shopper insights and technology, for example the 3D store visualizer. In the Experience Centers customers have a hands-on experience of how packaging impacts every step of the supply chain. Two more Experience Centers will be opened later this year in Colombia and Mexico.
During the innovation conference there will be a line-up of internationally-renowned speakers, including Ken Hughes, a Consumer & Shopper Behaviorist, who will be exploring how digital culture has changed the modern consumer. In addition, Zoë Chance, a Yale marketing professor, will speak about how to persuade and engage the modern consumer; and Arco Berkenbosch, vice president of development and innovation at Smurfit Kappa will address the impact of these trends in the packaging industry and their role in driving business success.
“These events provide us with the unique opportunity of engaging with our stakeholders in a groundbreaking exchange of innovative ideas and solutions, building the future of packaging together,” says Arco Berkenbosch,
Attendees will be able to have an interactive shopper experience with the Store of the Future and use virtual reality to get a 360-degree view of the company's FSC certified forestry and packaging lab. The event culminates with an awards ceremony that acknowledges the best packaging innovations and designs, as well as projects in sustainability from across the region. All entries to the awards will be assessed by a panel of Smurfit Kappa customers and experts in Sustainability.
“As a customer centric company, Smurfit Kappa acknowledges close customer interaction as an effective method for improving our packaging solutions, while jointly succeeding in the marketplace,” says Marcela Liscano, vice president of Pan-American Sales at Smurfit Kappa.
The event will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Irving, Texas, close to the recently opened regional Smurfit Kappa Experience Center.
