The inaugural edition of Industrial Pack, North America’s first show dedicated to the industrial, protective and transit packaging sector, will take place at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta on April 4th and 5th.

Industrial and transit packaging is estimated to be a $69 billion market in North America, according to the report, "The Future of Global Packaging to 2020," by Smithers Pira (smitherspira.com) As the push to bring more manufacturing back to the U.S. becomes ever more powerful, the role of industrial, protective and transit packaging will only become more important.

As a major industrial center in its own right, with more than 140,000 manufacturing jobs in the local economy, Atlanta is the perfect location for the event. Often referred to as the South’s technology, innovation and entrepreneurship capital, it has the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the country.

“Industrial, protective and transit packaging is an amazingly important industry in North America and across the world. It is, in many ways, the silent hero of the global economy, connecting manufacturing businesses, enabling complex supply chains and delivering products in perfect condition to businesses and consumers across the world," said Tim Rusbridge, event manager for Industrial Pack 2018.

Industrial Pack 2018 brings together the top suppliers in this industry, who will be showcasing packaging solutions to transport every type of productfrom hazardous materials and dangerous goods to automotive parts, building materials, industrial machinery, bulk food and drink and much more. Packaging formats on display will include drums and pails, IBCs, pallets, dunnage air bags, corrugated board packaging, and more.

Visitors will also have opportunities to network and enhance their knowledge. The Industrial Pack Conference will feature some of the top names in the industry discussing the hottest topicsfrom sustainability to the performance of the industry and case studies on how packaging end users have innovated their packaging. The unique Pack Testing Live feature will demonstrate live testing of a range of industrial packaging formats. And the inaugural Industrial Packaging Awards will highlight and celebrate the very best new products on the market.

“Industrial Pack 2018 will showcase the biggest companies and the best and most innovative new products in the sector. And, importantly, it will bring together in Atlanta the people who make this crucial sector of the North American economy tick. We have designed a show that will help connect buyers, specifiers and suppliers of industrial and transit. More than that, it will be a focal point for this community and will inspire the industry to innovate even more," Rusbridge said.
