Celebrating 30 years in business, GrandyOats has replaced its original plastic pouch packaging with a yogurt-cup-like container. The brand says it chose the new format because it is made from polypropylene, a BPA-free plastic that is dishwasher safe, which encourages reuse. Initial testing also found that the new package maintains product freshness longer. And, it’s easier for retailers to merchandise. “Retailers are not keen on the stand-up pouch that most granola companies are using because they are hard to organize, they tend to tip over and they are more difficult to rotate stock," says Aaron Anker, chief granola officer at GrandyOats.
