DuPont Izon 3D security hologramDuPont Authentication Inc. announced that it is working with Brother Industries Ltd. on a global initiative to help protect its laser and inkjet supplies from illegal counterfeiting. By using DuPont Izon 3D security holograms in combination with the DuPont Traceology eVerification system, users can now validate the authenticity of the Brother supplies they purchase.

“The risks of counterfeit supplies are quite serious for companies like Brother, that have worked hard to establish quality products in the market and have a keen interest in protecting their brand, reputation, and above all, their customers,” says Peter Waker, global business director, DuPont Authentications. “Illegal counterfeit supplies can destroy a printer, plugging nozzles and producing far fewer or inferior printouts, if they perform at all. Izon and Traceology can help guard against that.”

Brother’s anti-counterfeit initiative involves a high-security hologram on supplies packaging which carries a unique reference number, enabling instant visual authentication and verification that can be completed online or through a mobile App, in-store, at home or anywhere.

“DuPont and Brother have collaborated closely to bring together the critical elements of a strong, global consumer protection program, including easy overt validation technology, and DuPont Traceology eVerification to assist our customers in buying genuine Brother supplies they can rely on,” says Takafumi Kamenouchi, managing executive officer – Brother Industries Ltd.
