The installation follows a major factory extension completed in early 2024 and underscores Bakers’ ongoing £5m, two-year investment in cutting-edge technology to meet growing demand for digitally printed, sustainable flexible packaging.
The competition, led by Kraft Heinz’s R&D packaging team, invited innovators and material scientists from around the world to present cutting-edge solutions that deliver enhanced barrier performance for food protection and extended shelf life.
Avantium’s novel, plant-based polymer PEF (polyethylene furanoate) will be integrated into the Dry Molded Fiber bottle process, enhancing the barrier performance and sustainability of the bottles.
Located strategically within the i-Tech Valley in Iskandar Puteri, the facility will join a growing number of companies operating out of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and will serve Oliver’s growing customer base across Asia-Pacific.
