New gear motor offers smaller footprint
August 2, 2011
The new eDrive™ Technically Advanced Power Transmission Line from Dorner Manufacturing offers a 25% reduction in heat; a 30% reduction in weight; and a footprint that’s 15% smaller than conventional gear motors. When added together, eDrive provides customers with energy savings, safer installations, space savings and improved worker safety for precision belt conveyors.
The technology behind eDrive starts inside its die-cast aluminum housings, where the four bearing 90-degree gear-head, along with low inertia rotors and fan-cooled motors run cooler, smoother and virtually eliminate leakage.
Designed with the latest advancements in aluminum-body gear head and motor technologies, eDrive comes with a two year gear-head warranty, and is maintenance free. The eDrive is designed to fit all of Dorner’s industrial conveyor platforms (2200, 3200, 4100, 5200, 6200 and MPB). The gear heads and motors are equipped with both NEMA and IEC Flanges; motors range from 1/4 to 2 horsepower.
