A jar for high-end nut butters breaks out of the usual pattern of round, relatively squat containers. Justin’s Nut Butter, Boulder, Colo., uses four-sided, vertically oriented containers custom-molded by Tricor-Braun. The polyethylene terephthalate (PET) jars stand out among competing jars of peanut butter with height that exceeds their width. A pressure-sensitive label covers three sides, allowing consumers a good look at the peanut, almond and hazelnut butters, many of which have an aesthetically pleasing granular texture.
