3M introduces sustainable packaging award

Company recognizes customers who purchase sustainable products.
3M Industrial Adhesives
and Tapes Division (IATD) introduces the 3M
IATD Sustainable Packaging Award. This
new award program is designed to recognize customers worldwide who have
purchased sustainable 3M IATD Packaging Tapes and Equipment.
“We acknowledge and affirm the vital importance of conserving and protecting resources by incorporating efforts such as waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and environmental stewardship,” says Wei Moline, 3M IATD global business director, Packaging Business Unit. “The purpose of this award program is for 3M IATD Packaging to publically acknowledge customers who are actively using 3M sustainable packaging products, which have been created with those goals in mind.”
The primary 2011 3M IATD packaging products in this program include:

The primary 2011 3M IATD packaging products in this program include:
- 3M™ Stretchable Tape Wrapper ST1000 used in conjunction with Scotch® Stretchable Tape 8886 (solventless adhesive) – Reduces pallet packaging waste by up to 95% over conventional film systems.
- Scotch® Repulpable Box Sealing Tape 2622 – A 100% repulpable/recyclable tape.
- Scotch® Box Sealing Tape 3073 – A tape with 10% bio-based content. (Bio-based content is determined using ASTM-D6866-10.)
