KFC goes to reusable packaging
October 6, 2010
As part of an overall packaging sustainability initiative, KFC has started serving side dishes in reusable packaging. KFC recently introduced what it touts as the first reusable fast-food packaging with bowls and locking lids for its coleslaw, mashed potatoes and other sides. The polypropylene bowls and lids, supplied by Anchor Packaging, replace expanded polystyrene bowls. KFC also is replacing EPS clamshells with paperboard for boxed meals. The chain estimates it will reduce its use of EPS by 62% and all plastic by 17%.
