Two new inks for 1000 line printers introduced

January 11, 2013

Videojet Technologies Inc. (www.videojet.com), a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, announces the launch of two new inksfor its 1000 Line of continuous ink jet printers. V492-C light blue ink and V402 fast-dry dark gray ink were designed by Videojet to best meet specific customer requirements and applications.

“This expanded ink offering not only helps us fulfill our customers’ distinct application needs but also represents continued commitment to developing an ever increasing line-up of robust inks that meet maximum printer uptime standards for our 1000 Line printer family,” says John Kirschner, Videojet Supplies business marketing director. “By offering a wide array of inks and fluids capable of satisfying a variety of customer applications, Videojet’s complete marking and coding solutions are adaptable to the broadest range of customer requirements while delivering code durability and uptime performance.”

V492-C Light Blue Ink

Designed for the Videojet 1710 high contrast ink printer, the V492-C ink is specially formulated to adhere to a wide variety of extruded pipe, hose, cable and wire substrates. These products are typically constructed of plastics includingPVC, LDPE andHDPE in various colors. The colors help designate compliance to industry regulations, provide brand differentiation, identify quality standards and can provide visual cues important for accurate construction or assembly. Videojet’s V492-C light blue ink can achieve optimal contrast across the widest range of substrate color variations, thereby increasing the versatility of the ink jet coder, eliminating the expense of switching to different inks, and/or minimizing the need for “spare” printers dedicated to specific colors.

The V492-C ink provides exceptional transfer-resistance and adhesion. It is also sun/UV fade resistant — which is important for temporary outdoor exposure applications such as those at job sites or those in temporary outdoor storage at a manufacturer’s plant.

V402 Dark Gray Ink

For use on high-speed production lines, V402 is ideal for PVC plastic substrates that require fast dry times. With less than one second of dry time on cold PVC material, Videojet’s V402 ink dries 25% faster than the fastest drying ink previously available for Videojet’s 1000 Line of continuous ink jet printers. The ink formulation resists smearing on coded cables while providing good adhesion. As a secondary application, this dark gray ink can prove advantageous when lower contrast, lower visibility codes are desired for building materials, consumer products or parts assembly applications—especially where production codes are needed but only for infrequent or obscure reference.
