Bemis Healthcare Packaging (bemis.com) has an aggressive program to evaluate MSM Poly LLC Anobex™ brand acrylonitrile methyl acrylate copolymer (AMAC) as an additional packaging sealant for pharmaceutical and challenging ‘hard-to-hold’ applications. Bemis will first confirm that Anobex™ is functionally equivalent to INEOS Barex® brand AMAC and that Anobex™ is supported by a robust supply chain. Upon satisfaction of this investigation, Bemis Healthcare Packaging will incorporate Anobex™ into its already strong suite of packaging options including CXB® and PET high barrier sealants. With Anobex™ AMAC as a sealant in our high barrier laminates, Bemis will target existing Barex® applications that have not yet found a suitable alternative, as well as new applications which emerge that can benefit from the strong chemical resistance this polymer has demonstrated for many years.
